Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics (IOP)

Selected papers from the conference will appear in two special issues of the Journal of Optics A: Pure and Applied Optics. The special issues have topics “Light-induced material organization” and “Slow light”. Contributors that presented oral and invited papers in the conference in the above topics will be asked directly by the special issue’s editors for their contributions in the coming months. All papers will be peer reviewed according to the high scientific standards of the journal.

Photonics and Nanostructures - Fundamentals and Applications (Elsevier)

A special issue of the Photonics and Nanostructures - Fundamentals and Applications will be devoted to the conference. The issue will be published in 2010. The guest editors for this issue will be Nikolaos Vainos, Stelios Couris, Stavros Pissadakis, Michael Sigalas and Emmanuel Paspalakis. This issue will contain original and unpublished work that was presented in the conference and its theme is related to the aims and scope of the journal. Review papers of already published work will not be accepted. All papers will be peer reviewed according to the high scientific standards of the journal.

The papers should be at maximum 6 (5) pages for invited (oral and poster) contributions in double-column format. The special issue will contain a limited number of papers. In order to estimate the maximum number of potential contributions, we ask all potential contributors to send an e-mail to Prof. Emmanuel Paspalakis (e-mail: paspalak@upatras.gr) with the title of their paper by 16 February 2010. The above is compulsory and only those that will send this e-mail will be considered for the special issue. We note that the title of the paper should be the same or directly related to the work presented in the conference.

The new deadline for submission for this special issue is 1 March 2010 (Due to regrettable unexpected system faults, denying file uploading, the deadline has been extended. If you have experienced such an issue please use email instead), and the submission will open at 18 November 2009. The papers should be prepared in the double-column format specified by the journal:
http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/658453/authorinstructions and the submission will be done electronically directly via the journal’s online submission system http://ees.elsevier.com/pnfa/ (choose “submit paper” and at the step “Choose Article Type” you should specify “Special Issue: Emerging Trends”).

We note that in the case of a large number of potential contributions the selection of the actual contributions will be done by the special issue’s guest editors.
