Venue

The conference will be held at the EUROPEAN CULTURAL CENTER OF DELPHI (ECCD) established and operating by The Greek Ministry of Culture. Situated by the archaeological site of Delphi and the town center, the establishment is itself a place of natural and cultural interest, homing in its pine forest a permanent open-air international modern art exhibition.

ECCD has a long standing experience in hosting major international events, including art exhibitions and acts, scientific conferences and political summits. Its infrastructure comprises several halls, meeting rooms, an open-air marble theater, a hotel and restaurant, accompanied by a full suite of modern support facilities for the conference and the delegate.

LOCATION

Delphi is situated since the prehistoric period in the land of Fokida, at the central part of the Continental Greece Region. It is not only a place of great archeological interest, excavated and studied for many centuries, what makes this land an eternal pole of attraction for travelers and scholars of the world. It is the breathtaking view, the steep landscape, the “Fedriades” rocks of mount Parnassus, overlooking the Gulf of Itea and the olive-tree valley of Amfissa. It is the myth spread over the centuries.

Built on its ancient ruins, Delphi is today a modern town of about 2500 permanent inhabitants, located at an altitude of 450meters, offering one of the best developed tourist infrastructures in Greece and a long tradition of high quality services, culture and warm hospitality. 17km is the historic town of Amfissa, Capital of the Prefecture of Fokida, and closely the seafront of cosmopolitan Itea, and the traditional sailors’ town of Galaxidi. Within walking distance from the ECCD, Delphi Palace will be a central hotel facility for the event. Furthermore, a plethora of hotels, covering the full range of service categories (Hostel/Annex, A, B, C, and also 2*, 3*, 4*, 5* Art and Lux), will also serve for participant accommodation. The organizers guarantee suitable accommodation service to all registered participants.

Delphi is a very well organized small town with a strong cultural environment and several local attractions. The visitor will have the opportunity to walk in the narrow streets of the town, reach the Oracle and the Temple of Apollo, the Theater and the Stadium, and study in the Museum, or may choose a relaxing coffee break overlooking the Corinthian Gulf. Greek and international cuisine restaurants, cafeterias, bars and night-life entertainment fulfill the taste of every visitor, from “early in the morning” till….…”early in the morning”!!
